Conceived by the architect Marcel Breuer (Bauhaus trend), Flaine is a modern and functional resort listed as a historical monument.

If the resort style, known as "integrated" is sometimes criticized, landscape integration and praticity are accomplished: ski runs and shops are directly at the bottom of the buildings.

With no car resort, Flaine can be divided into 3 levels linked each other by lifts:
Flaine Foret (1700 m), Flaine Forum (1600 m) and Flaine Front de Neige (1500 m).
