The ski area

Main ski area characterictic is its amazing number of ski runs which are going through larchs. This nice and pretty environment is great whether weather is good or bad.

The highest part of the area have a different profil. All white, they give a high mountain feeling to the skiers. You will then find many mountain kind in Serre Chevalier!

SKi area has a lot of mythical slopes. The most famous is the black run called Luc Alphand. Located between Chantemerle trees, its name is coming from the ski champion borned in the valley.

In the upper area, Cuccumelle ski run follow an amazing small valley. Yret red ski run on Monetier area will offer a fantastic landscape.

Since compagnie des Alpes is managing the ski area (2004), ski lifts are better and better.

New 6 pax detachable chairlift, artificial snow (30% of the slopes)... It is nowadays as good as Tarentaise big ski resorts and keep on improving.

What could you do in case of bad weather? You should rather ski in the lower part of the ski area, between trees (do not go on Monetier upper part!). Do not hesitate to exchange some day programm in your planning. If the weather is really bad, take benefit from the resort's activities. You've got a lot of choice! (aqua center, shopping, ice-rink).
